Flora and fauna assessments

Ecological Impact Assessments

Our ecologists identify and mitigate potential impacts on ecosystems, ensuring compliance and project success.

Flora and fauna assessments can also be called:

  • Ecological impact assessments
  • Biodiversity assessment reports
  • Ecological assessment report

These reports all address the requirement in some Development Applications (DA) to assess the potential impacts from your proposed project on the flora, fauna and ecosystems in the local area. Council will usually require one of these reports if your DA is identified on the Biodiversity Values Map (BVM).

We provide thorough assessments and surveys to identify ecological communities, fauna, flora and threatened species present or likely to occur on the site and make recommendations for their conservation and management. We analyse the potential impact of developments on species and ecosystems, suggesting strategies to minimise and mitigate adverse effects.

Our assessments comply with regulatory standards, ensuring a smooth integration of your project into its surrounding environment

These assessments can include:

  • Terrestrial and aquatic species surveys and assessments
  • Targeted surveys for threatened species listed under Commonwealth, state and local government legislation
  • Significant impact assessment and tests for significance for matters of national, state and local environmental significance
  • Koala and koala habitat assessment
  • Wildlife corridor mapping and modelling
  • Biodiversity Assessment Method to assess biodiversity values under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016
  • Referrals under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC)
